What’s the difference between Email-to-Text and the SMS Marketing Suite?
Email-to-Text is designed for simple, one-to-one messaging directly from your email inbox — no new tools required. Each user is assigned a unique text-enabled number paired with a unique email address, ensuring conversations stay organized and easy to manage.
The SMS Marketing Suite is our web and mobile app, designed for teams. It provides shared access to conversations, full message history, contact management, and visibility across every interaction — with tools to manage conversations at scale, including number sharing, mass texting, and list segmentation.
Organizations can use either product independently or combine them across teams, depending on how their teams prefer to communicate.
How many messages are included in each plan?
Each plan includes a set number of outbound message segments per month:
- Solo Plan: 200 outbound message segments per month
- Pro Plan: 500 outbound message segments per text-enabled number, pooled across your organization
- Enterprise Plan: volume-based pricing with discounted per-segment rates
Incoming messages are always free.
What’s a message segment?
A message segment is how text messages are measured. One segment equals 153 characters (including spaces), and longer messages are split into multiple segments.
What does “pooled message segments” mean?
Pooled message segments means your monthly outbound messages are shared across all of your text-enabled numbers.
For example, if you have 3 numbers with 500 segments each, your organization has 1,500 total segments to use each month. Any user or number can draw from that shared total.
If you exceed your monthly limit, additional segments are billed per message. Usage resets at the start of each billing cycle.
What happens if I exceed my monthly message limit?
Each plan includes a set number of outbound message segments per month. If you exceed your limit, additional segments are billed at $0.04 each until your usage resets.
One message segment equals 153 characters (including spaces). Longer messages may be split into multiple segments.
Messages sent through Mass Texting Tools (e.g., TextDistro, The Wizard, and TextBetter APIs) are billed separately and do not count toward your plan limit.
What are carrier surcharges?
Carrier surcharges are small fees charged by mobile carriers (like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile) for delivering text messages.
These fees are set by the carriers and passed through at cost.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. We offer volume-based pricing for higher message usage and larger deployments. Contact us to learn more.
Can I upgrade my plan at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade your plan at any time with no contracts, commitments, or hidden fees.
Are there any setup fees?
A one-time setup fee may apply for carrier registration and onboarding. This will always be clearly outlined before you get started.
Are incoming messages billed?
No. Incoming messages are always free.
How does billing work?
TextBetter bills month-to-month with no contracts, commitments, or early termination fees.
Your first payment is due at sign-up and includes any required regulatory setup fees, along with your first month’s subscription. A card on file is required, and your account will be automatically billed each month for your subscription and any applicable carrier surcharges.
